Abstract :
An ultrathin electromagnetic lens based on Huygens´ metasurface is proposed for 28-GHz band applications. The lenses consist of a series of subwavelength (about 0.5λ0 × 0.5λ0, is the operating wavelength in free space) and non-resonant metal structures etched on a single-layer dielectric substrate. Each element can realize desired abrupt phase change and high-efficiency transmission for the secondary Huygens´ source in the incident wavefront. The total thickness of the lens is about 0.07λ0. Full-wave simulation demonstrates its excellent performance in controlling transmitted electromagnetic field.
