Abstract :
A Z-shaped slot is proposed to excite broadband circularly-polarized (CP) radiation from a slotted patch antenna. Operating mechanism of the feeding is illustrated and validated by an antenna prototype operating at 5-GHz Wi-Fi bands. The measured results show that the proposed CP antenna achieves the impedance bandwidth of 47% for |S11| ≤ -10 dB and axial ratio (AR) bandwidth of 28% for 3 dB with a single feed and low profile.
