  • Abstract
    A concept for compact large scale multi element antennas is introduced. It is based on multi-mode antenna elements that enable multiple decorrelated antenna ports per element by exciting different Characteristic Modes. It is demonstrated that by using 4-port elements the size of a large multi element antenna can be significantly reduced compared to usual crossed dipole elements.
