Abstract :
This paper employs the fundamental locally one-dimensional finite-difference time-domain method with second-order temporal accuracy and complying divergence (LOD2-CD-FDTD) to model and analyze a line-fed rectangular microstrip patch antenna. The FDTD computed results are validated by comparing with commercial software package ANSYS HFSS. Trade-offs between accuracy and efficiency of the fundamental LOD2-CD-FDTD method for antenna modeling are presented.
