Abstract :
In symptomatic epilepsy patients, the correlation between malformations take place in cerebral cortex and epileptic focus has been proven in previous studies. This study, aims to localize the thickened areas in order to identify epileptic focus. An anomaly test of any region on the cortex has been based on the hemispheric asymmetry. Patients, whose epileptic foci were known already are used to detect hemispheric asymmetry. And results were compared to each other. Surface based analysis performed using Freesurfer which is an open source software. Results verify the correlation between the epileptic focus and thickening in cortical surface.
