Abstract :
This paper presents reduced signal decoding complexity 8×8 and 16×16 MIMO V-BLAST systems. The reduction in complexity is achieved by implementing a method that lowers the total the number of iterations needed in the decoding of the V-BLAST signals. Results show that the scheme is able to provide up to 71.06% signal decoding time reduction with minimal symbol-error-rate performance degradation. However, the percentage of complexity reduction lowers as number of antennas employed is increased.
