Abstract
Design of an antenna using metamaterial for enhancement in the return loss and Bandwidth is presented here. This design is operated at single band frequency with reduction in return loss as comparison to RMPA alone. An antenna whose substrate is of FR4 of 60mm × 80mm and patch of 20mm × 30mm is taken as reference and by adding another substrate on which patch is formed by which metamaterial is created. This metamaterial enhance the return loss of the antenna and the structure become bidirectional radiation antenna. The frequency band of 1.9 GHz has been exclusively reserved for DECT 6.0 devices. The proposed design provides improvement in bandwidth and significant reduction in return loss at resonating frequency. The improvement in bandwidth upto 110 MHz and significant reduction in return loss upto-29.74dB at resonating frequency 1.9GHz. For verifying the negative value of permittivity and permeability, author has used the MS-Excel. The structure is simulated in CST MICROWAVE Studio.
