Abstract :
An enhanced Synthetic Aperture Radar algorithm (SAR) has been proposed for sea ice detection based upon region based segmentation using raster scan method. The MODIS data of RADARSAT1 and RADARSAT2 has been used as input data. This method consists of four stages. In first stage, input the radar image for processing. In second stage, apply Gabor filter to remove the noise from image. In third stage, apply region segmentation technique and scan the image using raster scan method. In last stage, calculate the parameters of ice like velocity, thickness and concentration to display the results. This paper is focused on noise removing process to enhance the accuracy of results using Synthetic Aperture Radar algorithm. Experiment results have shown the accuracy of results against the existing method.
