Abstract :
When optical fibers are dealing with small power then the state of fiber is known as linear and when there is increase in power then the optical fiber is prone to non-linear effects. Self-Phase Modulation (SPM), Cross Phase Modulation (XPM), Four Wave Mixing (FWM), Stimulated Brillouin Scattering (SBS), Stimulated Raman Scattering (SRS) are one of the common non-linearities in fibers. This paper focuses on the relationship between frequency and quality factor with enhanced bit rate and optimized power with adequate frequency levels, compensation is done by using three methods pre, post and symmetric compensation but post-compensation method is used in this paper while evaluating the results for better performance and high efficiency. The performance characteristics like that of maximum quality factor and minimum bit error rate yields different results with change in laser frequency, but appropriate results have been discussed for proper implementation.
