Abstract :
In this paper three of the methods used to optimize a function have been compared. These methods are the genetic algorithm technique (GA), particle swamp optimization (PSO) technique and a recently developed krill herd (KH) technique. All the three methods have been used to optimize various benchmark functions and the optimized values obtained are compared mathematically and thereby we find out the efficiency of algorithms by using statistical methods and hence compare them. We would calculate the execution time and also the mean and standard deviations and study them as the parameters for comparison of the techniques.
