Abstract :
Due to deregulation of electric market providing quality power has become an important concern of both power suppliers and customers. Lots of efforts have been made to improve the power quality using passive filters, active power filters, hybrid filters and the new concept of custom power. The custom power devices are used for improving power quality at distribution level. In literature load compensation is done with consideration of stiff source. But in actual practice load is remote from the distribution substation and is supplied by the feeders in this case source is termed as a non-stiff. This paper presents the DSTATCOM which used for load compensation with a non-stiff source. MATLAB software is used for the simulation of proposed work and results are presented.
