Abstract
In this work, a reconfigurable microstrip patch antenna is proposed. The proposed antenna design consists of a slotted square patch antenna with two metal strips for switching. Particularly the presented design is suitable for mobile phones since it supports the present generation technologies like third generation (3G) and fourth generation (4G), where multiband operation is essentially required. The presented antenna operates in the ranges 2.25-3 GHz for OFF-OFF state and 1.96-2.76GHz for ON-ON state. Antenna´s characteristics parameter (reflection loss, VSWR and radiation pattern) are analysed using HFSS 13.0.
