Abstract
In surveillance mission, a technology to camouflage military vehicle and weaponry is required for avoiding the detection by enemy´s radar, for example by coating them using Radar Absorbing Material (RAM). RAM is a class of material that can absorb electromagnetic signal at a certain frequency range. In this paper nanostructure engineering of ferrite material has been synthesized using ferrite phase alloy of BaFe9MnxCoyTi1.5O19 to reduce radar electromagnetic wave. The material was syntesized using sol-gel method. The measurements were done by using X-Ray diffraction (XRD), B-H analyzer, and waveguide to know its structure, magnetic characteristic, and electromagnetic absorption, respectively. The XRD measurement, showed that the ferrite phase of BaFe9MnxCoyTi1.5O19 has identical structure with pure BaFe12O19. The B-H analyzer showed that the coercivity of BaFe9MnxCoyTiz1.5O19 did not change for certain number of × and y. While from the electromagnetic absorption measurement showed that BaFe9(MnCo)1.5Ti1.5O19 has the highest electromagnetic absorption at X-Band frequency range.
