Abstract :
The Brazilian generation system is based on large plants, usually dams located far from load centers, connected to these transmission lines. However, there is an incentive for the use of renewable energy sources distributed to diversify the energy matrix and reduce environmental impacts. The new regulations reinforce this incentive also including the application of distributed generation in low voltage through the consumer (Normative Resolution No. 482 / ANEEL). The purpose of this work is to map the energy potential in Southern Brazil, exploring distributed generation technologies such as wind, solar, biomass and hydro. Then, one should analyze the influence of the inclusion of distributed generation in the planning studies of electrical power distribution systems, both in medium and low voltage.
