Abstract
Texture patterns in images, which are complex and ill-defined, are semantically categorized as regular, irregular, and stochastic. For the first time, the theory of chaos and fuzzy sets are applied in this paper to quantify the spatial dynamics of the texture spectrum. Experimental results obtained from the fuzzy metric entropy with the test of ten selected texture images of the well-known Brodatz database suggest the promising application of the method proposed for texture quantification.
