Abstract
In this paper, a fuzzy colored Petri net (FCPN) approach which combines fuzzy Petri net (FPN) with colored Petri net (CPN) is proposed to model fuzzy rule-based reasoning and determine confidence values for bases called in DNA sequence. The three input features in our fuzzy model (height, peakness and spacing) can be formulated as uncertain fuzzy tokens to measure the confidence value. The FCPN components correspond to different kinds of fuzzy operations in fuzzy rules such as If-parts and Then-parts. As the FCPN model is combined by the CPN and FPN, the FCPN method can not only guarantee the quantity of information but simplify the network size. Thus it can provide a complete structural representation and conduce to a better analysis of the proposed method for people. Compared with the method of FPN, the FCPN model performs more accurately in some reasoning outcomes which demonstrate that the proposed method is feasible and available.
