  • Abstract
This paper describes an application of Structured Sparsity for denoising. The subject of the denoising is about one-hundred-year old wax cylinders which have been discovered recently and are going to be analysed by musical scientists. The digitized cylinders contain nonstationary background noise of high level which has to be attenuated very carefully because of arising undesirable artifacts. The Structured Sparsity approach is compared to the professional audio restoration software together with a link to the audio examples presented online.
