Abstract :
Design water level is the basic parameter for Marine engineering design, which based on existing hydrological data of the port to calculate. In practice, the correlation between the short-time hydrological data of the newly built port and the long-term hydrological data of the nearby ports are often unable to meet the requirements of the standard calculation of extreme water level, and the result error of approximate calculation is relatively large. This paper take the Changxing Island sea area overall planning project as an example, provides a new method for determining the quantitative index of the tidal similarity and the extreme water level, which can provides reference for the extreme tide level calculation in new port.
