Abstract
With the economy developing rapidly, Location Based Service (LBS) has attracted more and more people´s attention. Indoor positioning methods based on WLAN and RSS with advantage of low cost are most widely used. In this paper, we propose an improved indoor positioning method based on received signal strength to obtain better accuracy. We apply selected weighed K nearest neighbor (WSKNN) to get a better initial point of the gradient-descent-based location search (GLS) which is combined with exhaustive location search (ELS) to achieve a better result. Experimental results conducted in the real environments show that our proposed algorithm can obtain improvement of the mean error distance of 7.17% and 22.54%, compared with the GLS-CF method and traditional KNN method, respectively.
