Abstract
An analytical model of an induction machine to calculate the radial magnetic flux density in the air-gap is proposed. A transient model is required to get reliable results if influences of inverter, sensor systems, control strategies and fault cases are considered. This paper indicates the process to compute the transient electromagnetic behavior of three-phase cage induction machines using a MATLAB & Simulink model and draws a comparison with finite element simulations.
