Abstract :
In order to calculate the stray losses and to avoid overheating hazard as accurately as possible in metal structural parts of power transformer with less computational effort, an analysis method which combined FEM and analytical method is presented. Based on the magnetic flux density and eddy current density on the surface of metal structural parts which are obtained by FEM, the stray losses of power transformer will be calculated by analytical method. The validation of this analysis method is verified by Team Problem 21 (model B), showing the calculated results are in good agreement with measured results. Then, the proposed method is applied to calculate stray losses and temperature distribution in metal parts of a DFZ-28.333MVA/230kV single-phase power transformer.
