  • Abstract
Magnetic forces in large submersible tubular motors are generally caused by the strong magnetic fields in the air gap. Due to the large size of the machine, and the rather thin stator, the magnetic forces acting on the stator often make the stator deform in many practical projects. In order to figure out the deformation degree of the stator caused by the magnetic forces, this paper proposes a simplified model with analytic method and finite element method (FEM) to calculate the deformation degree of the stator. In order to reduce the magnetic forces, skewed slot rotor is used to reduce the tooth harmonics. And then both the magnetic force acting on the stator and the deformation of the stator can be reduced. It lays a foundation for the further research of the stator deformation in large submersible tubular motors.
