Abstract
This paper presents a battery charge equalizer based on a Class-E inverter with a voltage balancing mechanism between odd and even batteries, where all of the batteries are marked with odd or even numbers. The control strategy is simple and no voltage sensors are required. High efficiency can be achieved due to zero voltage switching. In addition, the voltage differences between odd and even batteries can be reduced to zero by using an auxiliary circuit. The proposed control can achieve high equalization speed and reduce the system size. Finally, simulated results are provided to demonstrate the performance of proposed charge equalizer.
