Abstract
The dual-stator brushless doubly-fed induction generator-based wind energy conversion system (DSBDFIG-WECS) is promising in future wind energy development due to the merits of compact structure, low cost and high reliability. This paper makes the first attempt to compare the performance of vector control (VC) and direct torque control (DTC) based on the DSBDFIG-WECS. The comprehensive comparison results and the corresponding conclusions will be of value for future work on the DSBDFIG as well as the common brushless doubly-fed induction generator (BDFIG).
