Abstract
In this paper the effect of load pulse timing on the shaft of an aircraft generator is studied on terms of endurance and ultimate stresses. For this, two types of loads connections are considered: step electrical load and pulsating electrical loads. For the first case, it is proposed that a correct timing of a pulse load connection can zero the transients on the shaft. After for the case of a pulsating electrical load, like radar or a heating system, boundaries in terms of carrier frequency are defined in order to minimize the vibrations. For both cases results obtained by simulation are presented and compared with analysis.
