  • Abstract
Since the amount of switching states is up to 32, if the conventional model predictive control (MPC) techniques is applied to the five-leg inverter, there are a huge calculation, which cannot be realized by using the modern digital signal processor. In this paper, a restrained search predictive control (RSPC) method is proposed. The limit of switching action times during the transactions between switch states is involved in order to reduce power losses, and the quantity of available switching states is decreased to 10. As a result, the calculation is simplified and easy to be carried out. Simulation results show high performances of the five-leg inverter fed dual induction motor drives with lower computational cost by using the proposed control method.
