Abstract
In this paper, we investigate a method for accurate characteristics estimation of aluminum cage induction motors using electromagnetic field analysis that considers mechanical stress, temperature rise, and building effect. The calculated characteristics are compared with measurement. The measured and calculated results are found to be in good agreement. In addition, the remained problems in the electromagnetic field analysis of induction motors are clarified.
