Abstract :
In previous works we already introduced our wireless approach for the communication network in the battery management system. We also investigated the main characteristics of the communication channel. In this new contribution, we present the first version and results of a prototype of this communication network. We implemented the master and the slave nodes of the communication network with software defined radio (SDR) platforms. For the physical layer we employed a DQPKS modulation with the necessary blocks for phase and timing recovery but without equalizer, due to the channel characteristics. For the MAC layer we implemented a TDMA protocol. We measured the system performance in terms of BER vs Eb=N0, first only simulative and then also in our testbed with the SDR platforms. The system performance in the testbed meets the project requirements.
