Abstract
Senior undergraduate students majoring in electronic engineering usually emphasize engineering processing and applications but with less knowledge on material science, physics and chemistry stored in their brains which hinders them to well understand the disciplinary courses. Therefore, based on the teaching and learning experience gained domestically and overseas, we suggest some possible ways to improve the teaching quality for the students to learn disciplinary courses. The listed methods of integrating theoretic background with practice, explaining interdisciplinary concepts in details with illustrations, using method of metaphor, and opening divergent thinking do help students better understand the disciplinary courses.
