Abstract
The present paper examines the relationship between student activities participation and the development of four core generic competencies among Hong Kong tertiary students in the "science and technology" (ST) field. The findings indicate that a high level of participation had certain impact on students, including presentation and problem solving skills, but the effect differed across different cohorts. The results indicate the need to further investigate the impact of student activities on, as well as to identify other factors that may contribute to, different aspects of generic skills development among ST students.
