Abstract :
Mobile technology has been used for indoors and outdoors applications related to Cultural Heritage over many years. Mobile applications in museums and other sites of culture can satisfy visitors´ needs through the provision of contextualized contents and services. Personalization of these services is necessary as the amount of available information often exceeds the cognitive capacity of the visitors. The factors to be taken in consideration during design of personalized mobile applications in cultural heritage environments are the subject of this paper. A formal description of these factors allows both for a systematic survey of existing practice, and for supporting the design process of mobile CH applications in the future.
