  • Abstract
The cane sugar mill is technically challenging, combining many unit processes to produce a very high quality product. The ability to remain competitive has resulted in the use of more emerging and improved processes. Today, the modern cane sugar mill is a simplified but sophisticated organization. Therefore, it requires a high level of automation and advanced techniques to remain viable long term. According to the characteristics of sugar cane crushing process, the distributed control system (DCS) we used to achieve the balance of sugarcane crushing. This paper details the application of DCS and control design methodology, which has been successful in improving the performance of a sugar cane crushing process. Meanwhile, remarkable economic and social benefits have been achieved in the practical application.
