  • Abstract
Catalytic oxidation of chlorobenzenes (CBs) over carbon nanotubes (CNTs) supported manganese oxide and copper oxide (MnOx and CuOx) at different temperature are studied. Accordingly, a CB complete oxidation of >95 % was achieved over MnOx/CNTs and CuOx/CNTs at 80 °C and 240 °C, respectively. The stability and resistance to chlorine poisoning of catalysts were evaluated. Moreover, chlorine substituents were found to have a negative influence on ozone promotion because of their electrophilicity. In addition, the reaction mechanism of CB catalytic oxidation with ozone was described on the basis of kinetic study.
