  • Abstract
A comprehensive AAL solution should support independent living, wherever and whatever a person chooses to be and do. Integrating AAL solutions in natural environments such as a garden offers the possibility to encourage activities and physical fitness in a cognitively stimulating setting. Through an intelligent and adapting user interaction concept as presented here, multiple objectives and prevention strategies that facilitate well-being and health can be targeted, combining the maintenance of an appealing habitat with personal benefits. A survey with 147 participants empirically supports the suggested system design recommendations.
