Abstract :
The increasing power density of electronic devices may reach the physical limits of heat dissipation. Thus it is useful to check this for any new design. Therefore, a highly simplified compact thermal model was developed for Classic A type LED lamps. The model allows checking the thermo-physical feasibility of a new design. The influence of geometrical design parameter variations can easily be tested. Model results are compared with measurements and with CFD simulations.
