Abstract :
In this paper, we propose a novel Over Frequency Ruse (OFR) scheme in a heterogeneous network structure for 5G to increase the cell spectral efficiency and transmission ability. Specifically, we first derive an explicit expression of the interference characteristic in the cellular networks based on the cell interference depth (CID) model. And then, we analyze the performance of the proposed OFR including the cell spectral efficiency, the area throughput and the energy efficiency, and compare them with those of the traditional FFR cellular networks. The results demonstrate that the proposed OFR scheme improves the performance effectively, no matter the spectral efficiency or the energy efficiency, and is compatible with the traditional FR and FFR in 3G and 4G.
