Abstract :
The analytical evaluation of the average bit error rate (ABER) performance of a digital multihop transmission system operating in the presence of co-channel interference and Rayleigh fading is presented. It is assumed that the number of interferers at each relay node and the destination is a binomial random variable that belongs to a binomial point process. Analytical expressions for the ABER of Amplify-and-Forward and Decode-and-Forward relaying in terms of a single integral that can be easily evaluated numerically, are derived. An asymptotic analysis is employed to obtain simple ABER approximations and optimize the power allocation and location of the relays. Finally, the analytical results are validated with computer simulations.
