  • Abstract
    This study investigates the dynamics of muscular fiber response to a mechanical impulse. By recording normal acceleration values from different muscle fiber regions, upon the application of a variable mechanical stimulus, we developed a characterization of the response propagation pattern, with respect to different experimental conditions. This research continues our work on the subject of complex myotonometric measures, with the goal of creating both a device and testing methodology for the assessment of muscular health in the context of micro-gravity countermeasures. A prototype device and custom software was created and used in a series of experiments, with the aim of providing novel information on muscular properties.
