  • Abstract
The goal of the study is to evaluate the predictive role of body weight in the emergence and management of chronic low back pain (CLBP). The relationship between obesity-low back pain (LBP) and the phenomenon of degeneration of the lumbar disc (LDD) is not well known. Several factors such as family history, genetics and the environment can all contribute to LBP. Giving the high incidence of obesity worldwide, in this study we examined the relationships between obesity, weight, body mass index (BMI) and the occurrence of LBP. Using a personalized dietary plan based on an appropriate calorie level for age, sex, physical activity, behavior modification and food control, the results show that dietary approaches leading to maintenance of normal body weight can ameliorate and prevent LBP, and its chronicity.
