Abstract
Medical X-rays examinations are the largest source of exposure to ionizing radiation, being received by 6,446 million population with an estimated annual per caput effective dose of 0.62 mSv. Our evaluation of data from medical exposures in diagnostic - conventional (urography) and fluoroscopy (extracorporeal lithotripsy and interventional endourology) consisted of assessing the frequency and type of procedures together with estimation of mean effective dose from dose-area product measurements, underwent by adult and pediatric patients.
