  • Abstract
In a society which is based on continuous technological development, medical informatics is forced to keep up. Thus, M-Health is becoming a trend that supports patients, especially in terms of disease prevention. Although there have been notable results in this regard, still there are challenges to solve. This paper presents the realization of a portable device for medical and biomedical applications. The hardware consists of e-Health V2.0 development platform for Arduino, and the software is created by the authors (GUI in Qt Creator) or optimized for the platform (from open source code for Arduino boards). The application provides its users the opportunity to monitor much of physiological activities: heart rate, electrocardiogram, blood pressure, blood oxygen saturation, respiratory rate, galvanic skin response, blood glucose and body position.
