Abstract
In this paper a predictive control for a PMSM (Permanent Magnet Synchronous Machine) with variable switching frequency and torque ripple control is presented. The control strategy takes advantage of the parallel processing capabilities and the possibility to customize peripherals in the FPGA. As special feature an online adaptable space vector pulse width modulator that can be used for the reconfiguration of the control at the beginning of each period and for changing the switching frequency of the inverter is also presented. The proposed control scheme is based on a field oriented control scheme and optimizes the switching frequency on each sample time and aiming to a reduction of the switching losses and of the torque ripple. Experimental results confirm the suitability of the control proposed control scheme.
