Abstract :
Distributed generation is violent fluctuations because it depends on output of the clean energy generation system. Thus a power leveling system (PLS) is applied to maintain a balance between power supply and such an irregular power generation. The PLS is required to operate charge or discharge of storage and bidirectional power flow. Thus the PLS consists of a bidirectional buck/boost DC/DC converter. In this study, the bidirectional buck/boost DC/DC converter and double electric layer capacitor (EDLC) are applied to the PLS. The PLS with EDLC is expected to be able to absorb change of power quickly and long operation life according to EDLC characteristic. The output current of PLS is controlled in order to keep power balance and DC bus voltage. PLS should operate power leveling quickly for instantaneous fluctuation of power generation system. In this research, Control of the DC/DC Converter applying to deadbeat (DB) control based on linearization is proposed to obtain quick response. It is examined whether the stable power supply by the proposed system is possible in experiment. The effectiveness of DB control for PLS is proved in simulation and experiment in typical situations.
