Abstract
The application of a direct torque hysteresis controller (DTHC) driving an interior permanent magnet synchronous machine (IPMSM) in the dynamic state is presented in this paper. The underlying switching concept as well as a proposed experimental setup is discussed. Positive and negative torque setpoint steps are simulated in the low torque and high torque range. Simulation results show that the number of switching processes in order to reach the specified tolerance band is significantly reduced and the response time is comparable to present-day control structures.
