Abstract :
In this paper, discontinuous space vector pulse width modulation for a five-phase quasi Z-source inverter is presented. Two schemes are introduced for the continuous SVM of five-phase qZSI (SVQ1 & SVQ2) and two schemes of discontinuous SVM (DSVQ1 & DSVQ2) are proposed SVQ1 method is based on subtracting the shoot-through state interval from the zero state interval only. While SVQ2 subtract the shoot-through state interval from all active and zero states intervals. The discontinuous SVQ schemes are based on eliminating one of the zero vectors which will lead to 20% reduction in number of switchings. These schemes are simulated using Matlab/Simulink. An experimental setup is developed to validate and test the proposed schemes.
