  • Abstract
    This paper presents a current control boost converter with PWM/PFM mode of operation, designed and implemented on TSMC 0.18um 1P6M CMOS process technology. Using synchronous rectification architecture reduces the conduction loss and improve the efficiency. Moreover, this paper features a voltage controlled oscillator circuit which converts current into frequency. Results of the simulation shows an efficiency of 91.6% with an input voltage range of 2.8V~3.6V and with a load current of 10mA to 600mA. The converter also has a load regulation of 0.001745 mV/mA, and a line regulation of 6.612mV/V with a die size of 1608um × 1488um. This converter is suitable for battery supply application.
