  • Abstract
This article portrays designing and performance analysis of wearable textile U-shape slotted triple band patch antenna operating at 2.154 GHz UMTS (4G/LTE/CDMA), 3.546 GHz (WiMAX) and 5.424 GHz (WLAN). The proposed patch antenna having U-shaped slot and defected patch has been designed on jeans substrate having relative permittivity of 1.68, thickness of 2.0 mm and tangent loss of 0.025. The simulated result shows that the proposed antenna has return loss of -33.68, -27.86 and -37.57 dB at 2.154, 3.546 and 5.424 GHz respectively. The proposed patch antenna is perfectly matched having an input impedance of 48.79, 47.68 and 50.31 Q at these frequency bands respectively. The antenna has maximum gain of 5.04, 3.23 and 5.39 dB and optimum efficiencies of 68.81, 47.99 and 44.60 % at 5.424, 3.546 and 2.154 GHz respectively. The proposed wearable patch antenna is of compact size and can be used in wearable applications (tracking, navigation, military, patient tracking, health monitoring, mobile computing, safety and rescue operation). CST MWS has been used as simulating software for designing the proposed antenna.
