Quantitative Study of Preposition Based on Large-Scale Corpus

Preposition is the main point and difficulty in the teaching of Chinese as a foreign language. This paper emphasis on the distribution of Preposition in corpus of People Daily and Broadcast Television in the Recent Five Years and A statistical wordlist for Chinese preposition is established with the reference time by quarter. We put forward for some suggestions on how to select preposition entry in Chinese teaching based on the current "Syllabus of Graded Words and Characters for Chinese Proficiency (SGWC)"and"Graded Chinese Syllables, Characters and Words (GCSC)". Our investigation shows that Chinese Preposition in Diachronic corpus is very stable. Although the preposition has a small scale, their frequencies are very high. Most of them rank the top of statistical database. Mastering the vocabulary is very important for foreign students. Therefore, it is necessary to expand Chinese preposition scales for language teaching.
