  • Abstract
Recently, cognitive radio (CR) has been widely studied. The basic idea of this technology is to release the unused channels of the licensed users to better utilize the radio resource. Here we propose an auction scheme called Dual-Side Bidding (DSB), which aims to maximize the overall utilization. In our proposed scheme, both primary users and secondary users submit their desired selling/buying price. After a single round of the sealed bidding, the channel allocation can be decided. The proposed scheme not only has very low overhead because of its single-round approach, but also prevent users from colluding due to its dual-side design. The results of simulations also show that the performance of our method is approximate to the optimal solution.
