Abstract :
Geiger mode APD (GM-APD) with high-sensitivity and high-gain is widely used in diffuse reflection laser ranging (DRLR) system. However, GM-APD in existing DRLR system will be shut down once the echo signal is detected, which may affect the signal intensity estimation for DRLR system. Based on the traditional signal intensity estimation method, a signal intensity estimation method for DRLR system considering the effect of GM-APD work mode has been proposed. According to the results of signal intensity estimation from experimental data, the method proposed is superior to the traditional method in intensity in estimation accuracy.
